Winding down and looking ahead

I'm feeling a little tired as the year draws to a close. I'm ready for a break and I'm certain I'm not alone. I'm looking forward to having some down time to recharge my batteries. On the flip side of that I want to organise my time outside of work a bit more. I know that doesn't sound very relaxing, but it does help me focus. My mind jumps from thing I would like to do to another too fast sometimes, so I am thinking of listing everything I would like to do or achieve whether it is short or…

Overdue sorting

I am off work for a couple of days on leave so I thought it would be a good idea to sort out my workspaces a little. The areas started to make me feel a little claustrophobic. Too much clutter building up. After finding some suitable music (Ska being my weapon of choice) I got to work, and I have to say I am incredibly happy with the results so far. I still have my electronics and gaming area to tackle but my work and dev space is a lot better laid out. It is already giving me more motivation…

I have emerged… again.

I am at the end of a week off from work, so I thought it was about time I reflected on a few things. I continue to find it difficult to find things to write about, though. The week off started great on my birthday. We went out for food, and it was great! I knew I'd pay for it on the scales though (yes, I am trying to lose weight) and I was right. I gained a little. But, after some adjustments and getting right back on top of things I managed to lose what I gained last week…

Where does the time go?

It only seems like yesterday to me that I was thinking about what I wanted to achieve in the new year. It feels like I blinked, and it is August. I'll be honest, I have not achieved everything I wanted to as fast as I wanted to, but I have made progress. For that I am grateful. There have been a few setbacks, but they are shorter. When I say I shorter they still can last for a few weeks but before they went on for months. If I can get them down to days by the end of the…
